This tip is about using Amazon’s Key delivery program wherein they will deliver your orders into your garage for a secure situation. When I first saw this become available I jumped on it. Amazon more or less stated that you had to purchase the myQ-G0401-ES hub from Chamberlain to make this work. Since I had a Liftmaster 8500 opener also from Chamberlain I figured this was a no brainer. But I did consult the compatibility list and after seeing ‘any garage door opener after 1993 with beams’ would work, I ordered it. As it turns out that’s not quite true so I will save you a lot of aggravation. The myQ-G0401-ES hub connected to my wi-fi just fine but would not pair or control the Liftmaster even though the opener has a myQ logo on it. I tried for hours and hours (customer support impossible to reach). In the process I erased all my remote codes and had to relearn everything multiple times but the hub would not pair. I gave up for the day. Next time I opened the myQ app it looked different. This time it asked me if the opener had a wi-fi logo on it (No) and then said if the opener was made before 2011 it wouldn’t work without an internet gateway! Why? I don’t know. The hub is supposed to control the opener through radio signals just like your remotes. Why would wi-fi make any difference? In any case I ordered an 828LM Gateway. This unit plugs into your router and is not wi-fi (mystery) Anyway the 828LM connected immediately after I entered it’s serial number in the app and paired instantly and began controlling my 8500 opener through the app. I quickly learned I didn’t even need the myQ-G0401-ES hub. The app asked me if I wanted to activate the Amazon Key service, I said yes, liked my account and the next day Amazon started delivering into my garage.
The bottom line: if you have a pre-2011 Liftmaster you need an 828LM Gateway – YOU DO NOT NEED THE myQ-G0401-ES hub!
60 Minutes covers the UFO situation.
Chris Mellon: I tried to help my colleague, Lue Elizondo, elevate the issue in the department and actually get it to the Secretary of Defense.
Christopher Mellon served as deputy assistant secretary of defense for intelligence for Presidents Clinton and George W. Bush and had access to top secret government programs.
Chris Mellon: So it’s not us, that’s one thing we know.
Bill Whitaker: We know that?
Chris Mellon: I can say that with a very high degree of confidence in part because of the positions I held in the department, and I know the process.
Mellon says he grew concerned nothing was being done about UAPs, so he decided to do something. In 2017, as a private citizen, he surreptitiously acquired the three Navy videos Elizondo had declassified and leaked them to the New York Times.
