Edward Snowden Passport Revoked
So here we go again. It’s bizarro / reverse world. Julian Assange (who we hate for reasons other than Wikileaks) has to be the one to call out the U.S. government on its treatment of its own citizen Edward Snowden because no one else will. How sad!
Whether you consider Snowden a traitor or not (and it is very debatable), was revoking his passport a mature adult response? Was pressuring Austria to hold up the president of Bolivia’s plane hostage a responsible action of (what used to be) the world’s greatest democracy?
Once again we have absolute proof the US government believes the End Justifies the Means at any cost.
(What is amazing is that the very foreign governments we spied on are assisting us!)
When is Snowden – who revealed that our own government is spying on its citizens, monitoring every phone call and internet use and reading all our emails – going to be considered a hero instead of a traitor?
Does anyone remember the Nazi officers who proclaimed at their war crimes trials ‘they were just following orders’ and were vilified for it? So what, that doesn’t apply anymore because the US is supposedly a democracy? Doesn’t the very fact that we are a democracy hold us to higher standards to act like human beings with civil rights? Where are all the liberals now?
